Always at night ....

Day 8 of Amoxicillin. Baby is fussy as all get out and when we gave him a bath we realized he had a rash from head to toe. I'm allergic to it, so I decided to call the doctor even though it was 7:30. Asked whether it was something to be concerned about, whether I needed to give him benadryl or something like that, or just something to ignore. It's 2013. There's all kinds of technology out there, and yet I'm still trying to describe what the rash looks and feels like. Shouldn't there be a way to picture text your doctor???

  1. I feel like the insurance companies would save tons of money just by employing real live doctors who are standing by to video chat with you. They can look at something, tell you to just go to the drug store and buy drug over the counter, and save all the expense of an actual office visit. Got a little rash? Cough sounds like it might be more? How much money and time is spent to go to an actual doctor when that could be taken care of through technology. They could even staff it in India. All of the doctors are from there anyway.
